Earning money online to supplement your income or just to earn enough to pay for gifts for Christmas can seem hard and requiring a lot of effort – but this is not the case! You can earn money & prizes online several ways, some easier then others, and start doing so quickly. While I can not promise you will get rich quick or even make enough to live on, you can earn money online by utilizing these few ideas and tips!

1.) Earn Money Searching & Using the Web

This is by far the easiest and fastest way to earn money and prizes online! Do you read email, search the web or purchase things online? If so (show of hands?) then you should be earning money, points, and cash back for doing so! Below you will find some sites to get you started – I have personally used these sites and they come HIGHLY recommended. Each one has consistently paid out on time and as stated and I wouldn't recommend them otherwise:

Swag Bucks ~ One of my favorite sites! Earn "Swag Bucks" by searching the web, taking polls, printing coupons, playing games, and more. Redeem your bucks for prizes like Gift Cards & Paypal Cash! Use the code: MARCHSWAG when signing up HERE to get 70 additional swag bucks on top of the normal 30 for a total of 100 to start! It only takes 450 swag bucks to get a $5 Amazon Gift Card – meaning you can earn quickly. Swag Bucks paid for half of my Christmas gifts last year on Amazon and other misc Gift Cards!

Ebates ~ Think of Ebates as a local mall with over 1,200 different stores but with one huge difference. Online stores pay Ebates a commission (think of it as a finders' fee) on every sale and they split this amount with the consumer. Every time you go to shop online you should go through ebates! Search the website on ebates after signing up and then click through there to complete your order. You will earn a % cash back on every purchase you make and then will be mailed the check!

2.) Blogging

Blogging is a great source of extra income. If you have a niche (like couponing & frugal living) you can start up a blog. Once you have a reader base you can utilize things like Affiliate Networks, Advertising, Paid Posts, and Product Reviews/Giveaways.

When you sign up for an Affiliate Network like Escalate Network (I HIGHLY recommend!) they give you a bunch of offers to offer your readers (coupons, freebies, and more). When your readers click through your links and sign up/purchase/etc you get a certain specified dollar amount on each. Then every month you receive either a check or paypal payment for your earnings. Most affiliate sites pay Net 30 (meaning 30 days after the end of the month you earned in) while others like Escalate Network pay Net 15 (most of the time within the 1st week of the month!). Some sites (most) have a minimum pay out but most are only $25. Amazon's affiliate network pays out at $10 if you choose to be paid via gift cards.

Other ways to earn online blogging would be through Google Adsense or selling advertising space on your blog to companies. Adsense pays via check/paypal with a minimum 100 dollar earnings.

When your blog gets more readers and is ranked well with Google and/or Alexa companies may contact you (or you can contact them too!) to review and/or giveaway their products. You can get full size products absolutely free in exchange for your opinion and review on your blog.

Check out this post I made a while back for an overview of starting a blog, affiliate sites, advertising and more.

3.) Sell your stuff & services

If you have antiques, movies, or anything really worth selling you can sell it on Craigslist or Ebay. Also you can try websites like Etsy.com where you can sell handmade items online. Another idea for those who are artistic is to try Zazzle.com. This is a website you can go to and upload your designs to things like shirts, mugs, mouse pads, and more. Then when the product with your design sells from your store you get a percentage of the profits. Fiverr.com is an excellent place to earn extra cash! Fiverr is a place you can go and set up an account and sell products/services for only $5. What would you do for $5? I've seen some crazy stuff over there. Everything from logo creations to youtube videos consisting of the person screaming anything you want – all for $5. Get creative and do a search on google or 2 and you will find massive websites that allow you to earn some extra cash selling stuff or offering up your services!

4.) Surveys & Internet Consumer Panels

Survey sites and Internet Panels are NOT all spam and completely Useless! You may only make a few dollars here and there but it can and does add up over time. It may take a little more time then other mentioned ideas but it's still a worthy tip! Below you will find a few websites that I personally use and trust to get started:

Nielsen Home Consumer Scan - Scan your groceries weekly and take surveys periodically to earn Money & Prizes! Nifty scanner comes via Fedex that is then used to scan your purchases.

MyView Surveys - Take surveys and earn points redeemable for various gift cards

Synnovate Global Opinion Panel - One of the most trusted survey sites around. Take surveys and earn cash and prizes. Plus enter awesome sweepstakes!

So there you have it – a few ideas and tips to start earning money online. With some effort and dedication you really can earn extra money. Often times (as seen above) money can be earned just by doing what you do daily – using the internet. Plus, you can make your opinions count when taking surveys and also earn a little bit here and there while doing so!
